Perched on the mountain top of Bhutan’s Phobjikha valley, Gangtey Monastery is one of the most important monasteries in Bhutan. Gangtey Monastery was built by Gyalse Pema Thinley, in 1613 for Pema Lingpa. Gantey Monastery is built using timber wood, native stones and painted with colours from minerals.
